Gummy Getaway Coins and Boosters: How to Earn More and Spend Wisely

Gummy Getaway level 4 with the clock at 1:15, a tip that the clock starts on the first move, and the Hint, Freeze and Pop boosters below

Coins in Gummy Getaway do one job: they buy boosters for the boards that stump you. You earn them by winning, and you can’t buy them, so knowing where the big payouts are and when a booster is worth it makes a real difference. Here’s the full picture.

New to the game? Our Gummy Getaway first look covers the basics.

Coins are earned, never sold

Every coin in Gummy Getaway comes from playing. There’s no shop selling coins, and nothing in the game asks you to pay to keep going. Boosters are a reward for winning, not a toll.

What a win pays

Every level win pays coins:

Win Coins
Any win 20
Three stars (at par) 20 + 10 = 30
A Hard level double
A Super hard level triple

So a three-star win on a Super hard level pays 90 coins before any bonus, three times a normal three-star win. Hard levels are marked on the level map and announced with a banner when they start.

The win-streak bonus

Win levels back to back and the game counts your wins in a row. Each win in a streak adds a bonus of 5 more coins than the last, up to a bonus of 25 coins per win.

Losing a timed level doesn’t end your streak by itself. Try again keeps it, and so does replaying the level in Chill mode. The streak only ends if you leave a lost level for the map.

The candy jar

Every win also drops a candy in the candy jar. Five wins fill it, and a full jar pays 100 coins plus a free booster, picked at random from Hint, Freeze and Pop. Then it starts filling again.

The jar is the biggest single payout in the game, so steady play adds up fast.

Chill mode and the Daily

Two special cases:

  • Chill mode turns the clock off for every level and pays half the usual coins. It doesn’t add to your wins in a row, either.
  • The Daily pays coins on your first finish of the day: 20, plus 10 for three stars. That first finish also fills the jar. Replays the same day are practice and pay nothing. See our Daily guide for more.

The boosters

There are three boosters, plus a way to buy more time:

Booster Cost What it does
Hint 60 coins Shows a good next move
Freeze 90 coins Stops the clock for ten seconds
Pop 120 coins Takes one gummy off the board
+30 seconds 90 coins Adds time after the clock runs out

Boosters you win from the candy jar are kept and used before any coins are spent. If you can’t afford one, the game tells you how many coins you need rather than doing nothing.

When each booster is worth it

Hint (60). The cheapest, and often the best value. Most stuck boards hinge on one move you haven’t seen. A Hint costs less than a three-star win pays, so if it gets you to par, it pays for itself.

Freeze (90). Only useful on timed levels; on levels with no clock, the button tells you so. Freeze is best when you know the plan and only need time to carry it out. If you don’t know the plan yet, a Hint is the better buy.

Pop (120). The most expensive and the most powerful. Popping the gummy that blocks three others can turn a hopeless board into a two-move finish. Save it for Hard and Super hard levels, where the board is tight and the payout is doubled or tripled.

+30 seconds (90). Offered on the loss card when time runs out. It’s worth it when you were one or two moves from the end. If you were lost, Try again is free and keeps your win streak, so restart instead.

A simple coin plan

  1. Aim for three stars. The extra 10 coins a win add up, and par is the honest target.
  2. Keep your win streak going. Use Try again rather than leaving a lost level.
  3. Play the Daily every day. Its first finish pays coins and fills the jar.
  4. Spend on Hard levels. Boosters do the most good where the payout is doubled or tripled.
  5. Buy a Hint before a Pop. Understanding the board is cheaper than smashing it.
