Castle Match Characters: Meet the Monarch and the Royal Corgi
Meet the Castle Match characters: a young adult Monarch in a teal coat and coral cape, and a royal corgi. Here's who they are and why we drew them this way.

Every castle needs someone to rule it, and every ruler needs a good dog. The Castle Match characters are the Monarch and the royal corgi, the two faces you’ll see while you fix up the castle between levels.
Castle Match is our coming-soon match-3 game. You win levels to earn stars, then spend those stars restoring a run-down Throne Room. The puzzle is the engine, but these two are the reason the castle feels like a home and not a menu.
Meet the Monarch
The Monarch is a young adult, not a kid. They wear a fitted teal royal coat with gold trim, a flowing coral cape and a slim gold crown set with a coral gem. The pose is open and welcoming, one hand out, as if to say “come on in, mind the rubble.”
Their castle has seen better days. The Throne Room is a mess when you arrive: rubble on the floor, a broken throne, a torn banner and a cold fireplace. The Monarch is right there while you put it back together, one job at a time, and every star you win from the puzzle levels goes into that room.
Meet the royal corgi
Every good castle has a dog, and this one has a corgi. It’s a grown-up corgi with natural proportions, wearing a teal royal collar with a gold medallion. It sits proudly at the Monarch’s side and, frankly, looks like it’s in charge of at least half the decisions.

Why a grown-up Monarch?
Early on we had a choice to make about who rules the castle. We decided on a young adult monarch, with refined, realistic-stylized proportions, and an adult corgi to match. No kid ruler.
A few reasons that mattered to us:
- A ruler you can root for. Restoring a castle is a grown-up job. A confident, welcoming young adult who’s taken it on felt more fun to cheer on.
- Characters, not clip art. We wanted a cast with real personality, designed like characters you’d remember rather than icons in a corner.
- A look that matches HulaGames. The coral, gold and teal palette is our brand, and it suits a castle in need of a little sunshine.
How they show up in the game
In the first build, the Monarch and the corgi appear on the castle screen. Each time you spend a star on one of the Throne Room’s five jobs, the broken part of the room is swapped for the fixed one with a little sparkle, and the Monarch has a line to say about it.
The jobs run from clearing the rubble to lighting the fireplace, with the throne, a banner and a rug in between. Five stars, five little moments with the cast. That’s the whole meta in the first version, and it’s meant to be small and warm rather than busy.
Key takeaway: the Monarch and the corgi are there to make every win feel like it built something.
The style behind them
Castle Match uses the HulaGames candy look: glossy, soft rounded shapes, bright coral, gold and teal, with gentle highlights and clean outlines. The castle on the title art follows the same palette, with coral and teal towers on a green hill.
The Monarch and corgi are drawn to sit comfortably in that world. Same colors, same warmth, so the cast and the castle feel like they belong together.
Where to see them next
Castle Match is coming soon to HulaGames, in your browser and built for phones first. We’re not giving a date yet. For how the puzzle side will play, read our Castle Match first look, and for Rockets and Bombs, see the power-ups guide.
In the meantime, there’s plenty to play right now on our games page.
