How the Weekly Game Leaderboards Work (and How to Climb Them)
How HulaGames game leaderboards work: a weekly network board, a board for each game, a Monday reset and fair-play rules, plus practical tips for climbing.

Game leaderboards are more fun when everyone gets a fresh start often. That’s why the boards on HulaGames run weekly: every Monday, the slate is wiped and the race begins again. A great week counts, and a quiet one is forgotten by next Monday.
Here’s how the weekly leaderboards work, what keeps them fair, and how to climb them without burning out.
How the HulaGames leaderboards work
There are two kinds of board on the leaderboards page.
- The network board ranks the top 50 players by Hula Points earned this week, across every game.
- Per-game boards rank players by the points they earned in one particular game.
You’ll always see your own rank, even if you’re outside the top 50, so you know how far you have to climb.
The ranking is about points earned during the week, not your total balance. Spending points on an avatar or a frame doesn’t knock you down, and a player with a huge lifetime total doesn’t start ahead of a newcomer. Everyone starts each week at zero.
If you’re new to points, our guide to what Hula Points are covers every way to earn them.
When the leaderboards reset
A leaderboard week starts Monday at 00:00 Los Angeles time and runs to the end of Sunday. Then the board clears and a new week begins.
If you live outside the Pacific time zone, that reset may land on a Sunday evening or a Monday morning for you. Work it out once so you know when the last minutes of a week actually are.
What keeps the leaderboards fair
A leaderboard is only worth climbing if everyone climbs it the same way. These rules sit underneath every board:
- Points are decided by our server. Games report what happened, and the server works out the reward. Your browser can’t create points, so editing a page won’t put you on top.
- Daily caps. Each kind of reward has its own daily limit, and there’s an overall limit of 1,000 HP per player per day. No one can pull away with a single all-day session.
- Speed limits. Events fired unusually fast stop paying, which shuts down simple scripts.
- Admin grants don’t count. When we hand out points by hand (for example, to fix a problem), they never count toward the board.
- Only names and avatars are public. The boards show your display name and avatar, and nothing else about you.
Display names are 3 to 16 characters and pass a filter, so the boards stay friendly.
How to climb the leaderboards
The single biggest tip: consistency beats marathons. Because rewards are capped each day, seven steady days will almost always outscore one huge one.
1. Show up every day
Your daily login earns points on its own, and your streak pays bonuses at day 3, day 7 and day 30. A week with seven visits is a week with seven login rewards, plus whatever streak bonus lands inside it.
2. Finish all three daily quests
Daily quests are among the most reliable points on the site, and clearing the full set adds a bonus. Our daily quests guide has habits that make the set easy to finish most days. Check today’s three on the quests page.
3. Play more than one game
Every game’s rewards have their own daily caps, so spreading your time across two or three games lets you earn more before you hit a ceiling. You’ll also pick up a one-time bonus each time you try a game you haven’t played.
4. Specialise for a per-game board
Love one game above all? The per-game boards are where specialists shine. Focus on the moments that game rewards (wins, levels, bosses, finished runs) and you can top that board even if you never chase the network one.
5. Front-load your week
Early-week points matter just as much as late ones, and starting strong on Monday means a missed Friday doesn’t sink you.
One more board worth knowing
CRE Tycoon also has its own global leaderboard inside the game, where you can post your final net worth at the end of a 10-year career. It’s separate from the weekly Hula Points boards, and it’s there for anyone who wants to prove they’re the best investor in the city.
Go take a look
Open the leaderboards, find your rank, then pick a game and start moving up. A new week is never more than seven days away.
