How to play games in your phone browser: open HulaGames, add it to your iPhone or Android home screen, sort out sound, and keep your progress safe.

You can play games in your phone browser in about ten seconds: open hulagames.com, pick a game and tap Play. There’s nothing to install, and it works on iPhone and Android alike.

This guide covers the rest: how to put HulaGames on your home screen so it opens like an app, how to fix sound that won’t play, and how to make sure your progress doesn’t vanish. It’s all general phone know-how, so most of it works for any browser game.

Step 1: Open HulaGames and pick a game

  1. Open your phone’s browser. Safari is the default on iPhone, and Chrome is the most common on Android, but any modern browser works.
  2. Go to hulagames.com.
  3. Tap a game, or browse the full list on our games page.
  4. Tap Play.

That’s it. Most of our games are built phone first and play in portrait, so hold your phone the way you normally do. Guests can play without an account, so you can try anything before deciding whether to sign up.

Step 2: Add HulaGames to your home screen

If you play often, put HulaGames on your home screen. You’ll get an icon that opens the site in one tap, just like an app. Exact menu names change a little between phone and browser versions, but the steps look like this.

On iPhone (Safari)

  1. Open hulagames.com in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up). Depending on your iOS version, it’s at the bottom of the screen or at the top.
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Edit the name if you like, then tap Add.

The HulaGames icon now sits on your home screen. Newer iOS versions also offer Add to Home Screen from the Share menu in some other browsers, so if you use one, check there first.

On Android (Chrome)

  1. Open hulagames.com in Chrome.
  2. Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
  3. Tap Add to Home screen (some versions call it Install app).
  4. Confirm by tapping Add or Install.

Other Android browsers have a similar option in their main menu, usually under a name like “Add page to” or “Home screen.”

Key takeaway: a home screen icon is the easiest way to make browser games feel like apps, with no app store involved.

Step 3: Get the sound working

Silent games are the most common phone browser complaint, and the fix is usually quick.

  • Tap the screen once. Browsers block sound until you interact with a page, so many games stay silent until your first tap. That’s a browser rule, not a bug.
  • Check your phone volume. Use the side buttons while the game is open.
  • Check silent mode on iPhone. On many iPhones, silent mode also mutes sound in browser games. Turn it off with the Ring/Silent switch or Action button (depending on your model), or from Control Center.
  • Look for an in-game mute button. Many games have their own sound toggle, often in a corner or in settings.
  • Reload if sound stops after switching apps. If you leave the browser and come back, a quick reload usually brings audio back.

What about vibration?

Vibration in browser games depends on your phone and browser. Many Android browsers let web games vibrate the phone. Safari on iPhone has very limited support for it, so web games there usually feel quieter in your hand. If you want buzz feedback, check your phone’s vibration settings and the game’s own settings.

Step 4: Keep your progress safe

This is the part people forget until it’s too late.

Where your progress lives

When you play as a guest, progress is usually saved in your browser on that one device. That’s quick and private, but it has limits:

  • Clearing your browser data (history, cookies or site data) can wipe it.
  • Private or incognito tabs forget everything once you close them.
  • A different phone or browser won’t see what you saved on this one.

Save it with a free account

A free HulaGames account fixes all three. One account saves your Hula Points, badges and progress across every game, so you can pick up on another device. While you’re a guest, look for Save your progress. It uses an email sign-in link, so there’s no password to remember.

Points are earned by playing, never bought, and they’re never cash. You can learn how they work in What Are Hula Points?. Once you have some, you can track daily goals on the quests page and see where you rank on the weekly leaderboards.

A few extra tips for smooth play

  • Use the latest browser version. Updates keep games running smoothly, and some newer games need a modern browser to run.
  • Close extra tabs if a game feels slow. Phones share memory across open tabs.
  • Turn on rotation lock if your phone keeps flipping sideways while you play portrait games.
  • Use Wi-Fi for the first load of bigger games. After that, play is usually light on data.

Browser games or apps?

Browser games start instantly from a link, work on phone and desktop, and update without reinstalling anything. Apps can do a few things the web can’t. We explain why we build for the web first, and when we don’t, in Browser Games vs. App Store Games.

FAQ

Can I play games in my phone’s browser without downloading an app?

Yes. Browser games run in Safari, Chrome or another mobile browser. On HulaGames you open a game and tap Play, with nothing to install.

How do I add a website to my iPhone home screen?

Open the site in Safari, tap the Share button, then choose Add to Home Screen and tap Add. An icon appears on your home screen that opens the site in one tap.

Why is there no sound in my browser game?

Browsers keep game audio muted until you tap the page, so tap once to start it. Also check your phone’s volume, any in-game mute button, and on iPhone, whether silent mode is on.

Will I lose my progress if I clear my browser data?

Progress saved only in your browser can be lost when you clear site data or close a private tab. A free HulaGames account saves your Hula Points, badges and progress so they follow you across devices.
