The Crown Trouble castle screen: the Throne Room, a star to spend, and five jobs to fix it up

The puzzles in Crown Trouble are only half the game. The other half is the castle: a royal home that has seen better days, and that you put back together one job at a time. This guide covers how stars work, every job in both rooms, and what’s next.

How the castle works

The rule is short:

  • Win a level for the first time and you earn one star.
  • Each castle job costs one star.
  • Finish all five jobs in a room and that room is restored.

There are 10 levels and 10 jobs, so the numbers line up exactly. Replaying a level you’ve already won is good practice, but it doesn’t pay another star. Today’s Daily doesn’t pay a star either; it feeds your daily streak instead. That keeps the castle honest: every job you finish stands for a level you beat.

The Throne Room

The Throne Room is first, and it’s a mess when you arrive. Its five jobs:

Job What changes
Fix the throne The broken throne is rebuilt
Hang the banner A royal banner goes back on the wall
Light the fireplace The cold hearth comes back to life
Roll out the rug A rug runs up to the throne again
Clear the rubble The broken stone is swept away

Each job costs one star. When you finish one, the broken piece swaps for the fixed version with a sparkle, and a short caption tells you what changed. The room goes from run-down to royal in five steps.

The Throne Room’s jobs start with the throne itself, so even the first match of level 1 visibly starts rebuilding something.

Watch the job build while you play

You don’t have to leave a level to see progress. On a level that will pay a star, a strip sits between the goal and the board. It shows the job that star will pay for, as a grey picture with its name and a progress bar.

Every goal tile you clear flies up into that picture, and it fills in from the bottom as the tiles land. Win the level and it glows: “Ready! Spend your star in the castle”. The job is paid for in the castle itself, so the moment you spend the star is still the big reveal.

The strip doesn’t show on replays, on the Daily, or once your castle is finished, because those don’t pay a star.

The Castle Garden

Finish the Throne Room and the Castle Garden opens. It has five jobs of its own:

Job What changes
Pull the weeds The overgrown beds are cleared
Fix the fountain Water runs in the fountain again
Mend the bench The broken garden bench is repaired
Plant the flower beds Flowers fill the empty beds
Rebuild the rose arch The rose arch stands again

With both rooms done, all ten stars are spent and the castle is restored.

The best order to play

There isn’t a wrong order, but a few habits make the castle feel better:

  1. Spend each star as soon as you earn it. After a win, the win card offers Fix the castle whenever a star is waiting. One job at a time keeps every win paying off right away.
  2. Don’t grind replays for stars. They don’t pay one. If a level is hard, replay it to win, not to farm.
  3. Play the levels in order. They get gently harder from level 1 to level 10, and the last one is the hardest. The castle’s two rooms follow the same arc.
  4. Use the Daily between levels. If you’re stuck on a level, the Daily is a good warm-up that keeps your streak going while you think.

What comes after the Garden

Once both rooms are restored, a locked third room appears in the castle: a dusty old door you haven’t opened yet. The game marks Room 3 to open on November 21, and when it does, it opens right there in the castle.

Hula Points for the castle

On HulaGames, Crown Trouble earns Hula Points at every step of the castle loop:

  • Winning levels earns points.
  • Finishing a castle job earns points.
  • Restoring a whole room earns a bigger bonus.

The daily quests sometimes include Crown Trouble too, such as winning a few levels or finishing castle jobs. All of it counts toward the weekly leaderboards.

FAQ

How do you fix the castle in Crown Trouble?

Win levels to earn stars, then spend one star on each castle job. Each job fixes one part of the room.

How many rooms are in the Crown Trouble castle?

Two right now: the Throne Room and the Castle Garden, with five jobs each. A third room is set to open on November 21.

Do replays give extra stars?

No. Each level gives one star, on its first win. Ten levels give exactly the ten stars the two rooms need.

Does fixing the castle earn Hula Points?

Yes. On HulaGames, finishing a castle job and restoring a whole room both earn Hula Points.
