HulaGames has three, and they could hardly be more different: a rummy-style race through ten phases, a tight strategy duel with animal powers, and a blackjack roguelite where you bend the rules to break the house’s bounty.

All three run in your browser on a phone or computer, and all three are free. Below you’ll find what makes each one tick, who it suits, how long a session takes, and a few tips to win your first game.

1. Number Phase: the rummy-style race

Number Phase is a ten-phase card game. Each round, you’re trying to lay down your current phase, like two sets of three or a run of seven. Make it and you move up a phase. Miss it and you try again next round, while the others race ahead.

How a turn works

On your turn you draw a card, lay down your phase if you can, add cards to groups already on the table, then discard. The first player to empty their hand ends the round, and cards left in everyone else’s hand count as penalty points. The phases mix sets, runs and a color phase, and the tenth is the Final Phase. Finish it with the lowest score to win.

The deck has 112 cards: numbers 1 to 12 in four colors (two of each), plus 12 Wilds and 4 Skips. Skips stack, so a player can be skipped more than once before their turn comes around.

What makes it different

The campaign is endless: a road of tables, each with its own phases and rivals, three stars to earn per level, and a boss every 15th level. Twelve robot rivals play on Easy, Normal or Hard. You can also play a quick five-phase game or a full ten-phase match against up to five bots. Slots glow when a group is ready, a Suggest button can fill your phase, and hints tell you when you’re one card away.

Who it suits

Anyone who loves classic family card games. It’s also the best of the three for a group: pass-and-play lets two to six people share one phone, with a hand-off screen that keeps each hand hidden. Number Phase is free with no ads, no purchases and no energy timers.

Tip: don’t hoard high cards. When someone is close to going out, every card left in your hand is a penalty point waiting to happen.

2. Jungle Duel: the animal-power strategy duel

Jungle Duel is a quick strategy card game. Five clearings sit in a row between you and your rival. When a round ends, each clearing goes to the side with the higher strength total beside it, and that side scores its value. After three rounds, the higher score wins.

How a turn works

Each turn you choose one of three moves:

  1. Play 2: place two animals face-up on your side. This is the usual move.
  2. Play 1: place one animal face-up on your rival’s side, to break up their team or hand them strength at a Swamp.
  3. Hide 1: place one animal face-down on your side. It flips when the round ends.

Swamps are worth minus points, so sometimes you want to lose them. A tied clearing scores for nobody.

What makes it different

Seven animals, each with a strength and often a power. The Snake (0) bites the weakest face-up animal on each side of its clearing. The Mouse (1) makes every Lion at its clearing worth 0. Three Monkeys (2) together open a fourth slot, three Gorillas (3) together add +1, the Tiger (4) is strong and simple, the Lion (5) is the strongest, and the Parrot copies the strength of the animal it points toward.

On top of the core duel sits the Jungle Trail: 100 levels in nine chapters, each adding a twist like Tides, Fog or Totems, and each ending with a Guardian boss with its own power. A Daily challenge gives everyone the same deal each day.

Who it suits

Players who like reading an opponent and making one sharp decision per turn. It’s also a great two-player game: pass-and-play covers each hand between turns. Jungle Duel is free with no ads. Guests can play solo battles, the Daily, pass-and-play and all of Chapter 1, and a free Google sign-in opens chapters 2 to 9.

Tip: keep a Mouse for the clearing where your rival has stacked a Lion, and save your hidden card for a clearing they think is already won.

3. Double Bust: the blackjack card roguelite

Double Bust starts with blackjack decisions you probably already know (hit, stand, double down or split against the dealer’s upcard) and turns them into a run-based card game. It’s a card game, not a gambling game: chips and dollars exist only inside it, and nothing is bought, bet or won for real.

How a run works

Each hand you build is scored as Chips × Mult, and beating the dealer multiplies the score. Each floor has three tables: Low Limit, High Roller and a Pit Boss with a rule that bends the game. You get 4 hands and 3 Burns to reach each table’s bounty. Fall short and the run ends.

Between tables you visit the Back Room to spend your in-game cash on Grifts (passive perks that change how hands score), Cheat Tokens you can use mid-hand, and enhancements for the cards in your shoe. Your shoe is your deck, so every card you add or cut matters. Clear 8 floors and beat The House to win.

What makes it different

The scoring ladder. Hand types, Twenty-Ones, Blackjacks and 5-Card Charlies all feed your score. Stand Pat on two cards and a dealer bust is worth triple. A Double is a real commitment: a won double scores ×2.5, and a lost one scores nothing. Cheat Tokens let you peek at the shoe, undo a bust or load your next card, and enhancements like Foil, Holographic, Polychrome, Gold and Marked make your deck your own. The order of your Grifts matters too, because it changes how their effects stack.

Who it suits

Players who love building an engine and watching it snowball. If you enjoy a deck that gets stranger and stronger as you go, this is your game. A table takes about 2 minutes, and the game saves between hands, so you can play a run across several breaks.

Tip: read each Pit Boss’s rule before the table starts, and buy Grifts that work together rather than whichever looks biggest on its own.

How to choose between them

  • Playing with family or friends on one phone? Number Phase for groups, Jungle Duel for two.
  • Got five minutes? A Jungle Duel solo battle or a single Double Bust table.
  • Want a long-term goal? The Jungle Trail or the Number Phase campaign.
  • Love big numbers and broken combos? Double Bust.
